Rhumb Lines Restaurant is particularly well-suited to custom-planning your special events, whatever the occasion might be. Our tropical garden courtyard is reminiscent of a well-appointed home in the South Seas, offering outdoor dining in the glow of bamboo torches and dining on our cozy pillow covered bench seating “livingroom”.
With two seasoned chefs and a wealth of talented and caring staff, we are happy to design your menu and your experience in any manner you might choose. Whether you want to have a particularly affordable yet “Lovely” affair; or an all-out, no-expense-spared “Lush”event, Rhumb Lines will arrange for you exactly what you want. To this end, we have outlined below just several of a multitude of possibilities and price ranges.
The “Lovely Menus” listed would incorporate less costly ingredients such as chicken, mahi-mahi, pork and sirloin steak. The “Lush Menus” afford the availability of more luxurious ingredients such as shrimp, scallops, lobster, fresh tuna, duck and special cuts of beef (eg:filet mignon and porterhouse) in all of the courses presented; as well as more complicated and time-consuming preparations and presentations.

OPEN BAR PACKAGES
The Well Liquor Package offers the basics: the cheap vodka, rum, gin etc. we put in a drink if someone orders a basic cocktail, eg: gin&tonic. This package is $15.00pp for three hours of open bar.
The Call Liquor Package offers the slightly more expensive alternatives such as Absolut, Stoli, Tanqueray, Cuervo Gold etc, an can also include the more expensive mixers that make frozen and specialty cocktails possible. It also includes our house wines, specialty beers, and, of course, non-alcoholic beverages. This package is $30.00pp for three hours of open bar.
The Specialty Liquor Package offers all of the above as well as specialty liquors, eg: Grey Goose vodka, reserve tequilas and rums, special-order wines and champagnes, liqueurs and cognacs. This package is $50.00pp for three hours of open bar.
These figures are based on the industry standard that a normal person being served free alcohol while eating a fine-dining meal will consume an average of two drinks per hour. Many people will consume rather more than that, especially when you factor in the Special Occasion Mentality.
The alternative to an open bar package is to simply have an open tab that runs for the course of your event, then pay at the end. This option is only recommended for parties that do not include enthusiastic drinkers!
Service Gratuities
The above prices do not include gratuities for the service staff. A 20% gratuity will be added on the total cost of your packages.
Off-Premise Fees
We can cater our food, and almost anything else you might desire, at almost any location on St. John. Whether it’s a beach party, a house party, or a boat party, we are happy to take care of all the catering details for you, including decorations, flowers, and other “ambience details.”
Because off-premise affairs require the hiring of additional staff as well as the need for additional equipment and supplies, 15% will be added on to the prices listed above.
